We ate a meal there on our visit. I have been thinking about the experience and how it was so different from every place we had been to on our trip to Japan. We were lucky to visit some of the best restaurants around Tokyo and Kyoto and this was definitely a tourist trap to the fullest. The food, overall great, was very expensive. The push for the “American style” tip at the end was not something we had seen anywhere else during our 9 days from any small restaurant to a Michelin star. That being said - a meal for with a small piece of steak for two people that costs $760.00 with a 20-30% tip seemed exhorbitant.
