Do not want to create a wrong impression - this a nice place with cool and funky service, great food BUT THERE ARE SEVERAL things to consider: 1. DO NOT GO to this restaurant if you are not ready/willing to cough up a 200/250 USD per person. Kobe beef is expensive everywhere but here a nice cut of wagyu can set you back 550 USD per 220 grams of fine cut. 2. This is a 100% TOURISTIC place designed to please an average traveler who has read these magic words "wagyu", "katana", "kobe" and lost his mind a little bit 3. Service is great - everybody smiles, takes pictures, plays verbal games, etc - sometimes you feel being in kindergarten or assisted living home. I strongly believe kobe beef requires totally different environment 4. This is a first place in Japan where I was offered to pay 18% gratuity. Tip culture DOES NOT exist in this country. 5. Generally Shinjuku neighborhood needs you to be a bit careful as there are too many flashy things and an authentic experiences (if you know what I mean). There are too many other places where you can enjoy beautiful wagyu meat in proper setting, paying similar or even less money. The choice is yours.
