This was a bizarre experience and very clearly for tourists. The meat was good, I think, but the experience was over priced, at best.
This is the type of place that urges Google reviews and then watches you write it, so that’s why there are so many. It’s also the only place we were asked for a tip in the entire country. For being the most expensive place we’d tried, by far ($20k+ yen each), it left an icky feeling.
Our waiter was super nice, but kept interchanging the names of what we ordered (one waygu one kobe). So I actually don’t know which one we liked. The chopsticks were the really cheap ones that splinter and the set menu did not taste good. And was very small, weirdly enough. It’s kind of strange watching someone cook one slice of bell pepper and one shaving of potato.
I hesitated to write this because they said their pay is attached to reviews, but it just felt so misleading. Overall we would not go back, and we left feeling like suckers.
